Creating Subdomains

Ask | WHMcPanel

Last Update ३ वर्ष पहले

You may want to add a second website to your account to utilize its capacity or put up a second website that can be used for testing purposes such as a new design. Either way, it is very easy to do. The question is whether you own a new/alternative domain or whether you are looking to make use of your current domain by adding a subdomain to it - for example with a subdomain, if you owned www.your-domain.com, you could create blog.your-domain.com without any added cost and have a completely different website for it.

To Create a Subdomain Name

The first step is to log into your cPanel account. If you are unsure on how to do this, please view the following help article - 'How to log into cPanel'.

Under the 'Domains' section, click on 'Subdomains'.

Write your subdomain in the 'Subdomain' box.

Please note - if your cPanel account has multiple domains, you will need to choose the right domain that you are looking to add the subdomain to using the drop-down box.

When you mouse click away from the 'Subdomain' box, the document root will be automatically completed by cPanel. Should you wish to change this, you can do so.

Please note - it is recommended that you make a note of the 'Document Root' because this is where you will need to FTP your files to for a site on this subdomain.

Click 'Create' to complete the subdomain creation.

Your new subdomain will have now been created.
